Cape Town - A belligerent 54 off just 28 balls by Jos Buttler, ably supported by England captain Eoin Morgan (38) helped England post 171 all out in the second T20 international

against the Proteas at the Wanderers.

The visitors however, will feel they should have had closer to 200 but a massive collapse, in which they lost 7 wickets for 14 runs, saw the Proteas right back into the match.

Live: Proteas v England - Second T20 - Johannesburg

After a quiet start in which Kagiso Rabada bowled Jason Roy (9), Joe Root and Alex Hales began to build an imposing partnership.

Root, who raced to 34 off just 17 balls, fell to Imran Tahir with Hales soon joining him in the dugout after a horrible mix-up with Morgan led to a run-out.

Buttler joined Morgan and the pair added 96 runs in just 8.3 overs before both fell in quick succession.

Buttler was caught in the covers off Abbott, and Morgan was cruelly run out in the same over after Abbott managed to deflect a stinging drive from Ben Stokes onto the stumps at the non-strikers end with England captain out of his ground.

Stokes (1), Ali (1), Jordan (1), Billings (5) and Rashid (3) soon followed with the Proteas ending the England innings in the 19th over.

For the Proteas, Abbott (3/26) was the pick of the bowlers.

He was ably supported by Chris Morris (2/33) and Rabada (2/29).
