Tim Noakes says he realised in 2010 he was wrong on carbohydrates for 33 years.
"I realised how I had been fooling myself."
One size doesn't fit all, he said. "There may be other sizes."
"That's science," he says.
Noakes is now going through his research on cholesterol, the effects of meal size, and fat content.
"Now we know carbs, not fat, drive triglycerides," he says.
Noakes says he was the first subject in a ketosis study published in the Journal of Physiology. The previous study of a similar nature was conducted in the 1930s.
"To say I am not qualified in nutrition is just not true," Noakes starts.
He has done studies and has expertise in nutrition.
